After a couple of hiccups leaving Charlotte,we enjoyed a casual drive to Brunswick, GA. Where we spent a comfortable night in our “mobile” home.

The next morning we got up and finished the trip to sunny Florida. Arrived safely to Ormond Beach where we met our hosts, Tom and Debbie. To explain, we met Wayne and Jen Smith on our first work camping experience at Talladega Super Speedway during the spring race of 2011. After working with them in Talladega, Wayne and Jen followed us to our house in Charlotte to tour the nascar shops and garages because they are big race fans and Wayne sells nascar memorabilia. Wayne and Jen met Tom and Debbie while working the flea market in the Daytona area and negotiated a deal for both of us couples to camp at their house during our work camping stay in Florida. Tom owned a Harley shop in Daytona and now sells motorcycle related things at the flea market, so we feel right at home amongst our new found friends.

Maybe it is just our good fortune that our first assignment is working the 50th anniversary of the Rolex 24hr race.  Which means added excitement and record crowds. It was also our good fortune to be working in the camping area in the infield where our job was to simply ride around together on a golf cart and make sure campers with reserve spots were in the right spot. Needless to say we have had a blast and made some money while doing it. On to the next adventure…
